Freelance writer and editor
I'm a full-time writer and editor currently based in San Francisco, California. Some of my areas of expertise include arts, culture, feminism, lifestyles and sexuality. I have been writing obsessively since childhood, and have made it a career since graduating from the University of Massachusetts in 1999.

With 10 years of professional experience, I'm always looking for new ways to write about the world around me. I like to write about charged subjects that inspire and engage, making people think, laugh and yell.

Some of my favorite pieces include my feature about the much-ballyhooed "I Had an Abortion" t-shirts for Salon, my Q&A with political funnyman Al Franken for AlterNet, my piece about the Living Museum (a Queens, New York psychiatric center where mentally ill folks create art) for Time Out New York, and my "Bad-Ass of the Month" profile of a 15-year-old internet DJ for ELLEgirl.  Other career highlights include a staff stint as an associate editor at AlterNet, and my incredibly entertaining first job at Teen Beat magazine.

I am available for a wide range of freelance writing and editing projects. Please contact me for details.
